Quality Assurance and Testing
Allied Mills continually strives to maintain the highest quality values. Wheat and finished products are manufactured to defined standards for Quality, Functionality and Product safety.
The company’s’ Quality Management Systems are accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and a higher level status has been achieved in accordance with The British Retail Consortium Technical Standard. All sites are also accredited to the Environmental Standard ISO 14001:2004
Raw Materials are purchased from assured sources and are extensively tested prior to intake utilising the latest wholegrain technology. Wheat testing is accredited to the NABIM (National Association of British and Irish Millers) standard for wheat intake.
- We have access to a first class supply of crop information and statistical analysis from sources and contacts around the world in order to enable the correct buying decisions to be made. We see it as our role to pass on this buying advice to enable our customers to benefit from these informed buying decisions
- We can offer our flour customers forward wheat purchases to back up our flour pricing mechanisms utilizing both futures and options contracts to manage the price risk for customers in volatile fast moving wheat and flour markets.
HACCP (hazard analysis critical control point) principles and systems are applied throughout the milling process and finished products are fully tested on site before release.
Allied Mills are also committed to the attainment in 2006 of the OHSAS18001 health & safety standards.
ATC (Allied Technical Centre) who are UKAS accredited offer additional testing and technical support functions such as legislation updates and microbiological and pasta ‘al dente’ testing.They have a team of cereal scientists who monitor our products and keep us up to date with all the latest technological advances and legislative developments. This facility is available for use by our customers who use the service to assess product performance over a wide range of applications.
